19. Musings on the ‘gram

Summary:

I have a true love-hate relationships with Instagram these days. Digging into my thoughts on the good, bad and ugly sides of social media lately, from both a personal and business perspective.

“Make as much time to dream, as you do to scroll. A dream, after all, comes before every goal.” - Unknown

Everything you consume is energy - and that includes social media. This solo episode explores the positives and negatives of social media lately, and how I am shifting my business strategy to include a lot less time on the ‘gram. (Which is admittedly a big step for this millennial mama).

I touch on…

  • Just how LONG I’ve been using Instagram (since 2012 I since figured out) and the initial success I saw when I started my entrepreneurial journey.

  • The shift that social media has taken throughout the pandemic and beyond.

  • Knowing when it’s time to take a break.

  • Tips on using Instagram more intentionally and not succumbing to endless scrolling.

  • How to best manage your energy when using the app, and what you might be avoiding in your real life (hint: it’s not always a bad thing).

  • The reasons behind my strategic redirection off Instagram.

  • Ideas on how you can grow your business without social media (PS: you might actually have to get out of your comfort zone).

Resources mentioned:
